Would be interested too. As far as i can see there was some activity  
around this mentioned at http://swift.im/blog/:

"Cătălin Badea will finally bring us the long awaited “Conversation  
History” support, using the newly minted Message Archive Management XEP"

But i'm unsure if this is a working feature?
